| NTT docomo Touch Wood The Touch Wood is a mobile that - you guessed it - is made with real wood. That makes each one unique, since every handset "has its own grain patterns and wood colours". It certainly looks the part, with a funky asymmetic curved bean/pebble shape. .. NTT docomo Separable PhoneThe Separable Phone is a concept device from NTT docomo billed as the 'world's first handset that separates into two functional units'.
The detachable keypad can be put to multiple uses, such as a game controller, or as a remote control for the phone's camera or on-board projector. You can even use it to tap out your notes while chatting on the phone, for those 'multi-tasking yourself to death' moments... NTT docomo Solar HybridIf you're a butter-fingered fan of chatting on your mobile while lounging in a swimming pool on your summer holiday (and, let's face it, which of us isn't?) then this is the phone for you.
Not only is it solar-powered (10 minutes of the hot stuff will get you one minute of talk time), but it's also waterproof. So a meeting between phone and bottom of pool needn't spell an end to your nattering... Samsung Diva Folder The Samsung Diva is unashamedly pitched at the female phone-buying market. Its quilted back cover and choice of 'feminine' home screen themes may be less than essential, but there's no denying the Diva has head-turning looks... Emporia EleganceCrikey, a mobile phone with no touchscreen, now there's a novelty. Keypad-only handsets are fast becoming an endangered species, but then the Elegance isn't aimed at the gotta-have-the-latest-smartphone crowd.
It's a phone for people who want a simple mobile but don't want to look like they're stuck in 1998. So, we have the oversized keypad, along with some genuinely stylish looks and an OLED screen. The Elegance will text, make calls and, well, that's about it, actually. But if simplicity is your main need, it certainly looks the part... Emporia SolidAnother simple-to-use phone from Emporia, the Solid's guts are identical to the Elegance, but it lives up to its name by being a little more heavy-duty.
It won't break if you drop it, and it's also water resistant and dirt repellent. Its manufacturer claims it's also the first phone that can be used with gloves on, so a surefire winner with gardeners and goalkeepers, presumably... NTT docomo SH-04BHow on earth did a mobile phone that looks exactly like a bar of chocolate get the head-noddingly dull name SH-04B? In a world where phones are given titles such as Hero, Legend and Quench, we'd hope for something slightly more catchy.
Still, the feature list of this clamshell doesn't disappoint. Included is an 8MP camera, 3G and HSDPA 7.1, GPS and a case-mounted OLED display for showing the time. It's even water-resistant. There's a pink version too, for those that like, um, pink chocolate, presumably... Puma Phone Custom-designed from the inside out by mobile veterans Sagem, the Puma Phone's stand-out feature is its rear-mounted solar panel, which can be used to charge the device.
It's not short on spec either, with all the usual extras such as a 3.2MP camera, integrated GPS and HSDPA mobile internet connectivity. As you'd expect from a phone with sporty connections, there are some more unusual additions, such as a pedometer, too. | |
